Fire Marshal Division is responsible for emergency responses to hazardous materials incidents, and for enforcing state laws for prevention of fires; storage, sale, and use of combustibles and explosives, including fireworks; fire safety inspections and regulations, arson investigations, hazardous materials training, and fire prevention education.
The Fire Marshal Division assists local fire departments and emergency response agencies with fire prevention and life safety public education, fire inspections, and issues fire department certificates of existence. The division conducts fire investigations to determine origin and cause, and inspects public buildings, day care facilities, and schools to ensure compliance with fire codes.
