The Licensing Section regulates the licenses of alcoholic beverage retailers; wholesale and retail tobacco product dealers; transient merchants; fair boards; wholesale fireworks distributors; polygraph operators; operators and distributors of coin-operated amusement devices; charitable gaming organizations, and gaming manufacturers and distributors.

For more information, we suggest you contact the Policyholder Services Department of Workforce Safety and Insurance at 1-800-777-5033 for assistance with coverage requirements, the State Tax Department's sales and use tax division at (701) 328-3470 or the income tax withholding division at (701) 328-3470, and Job Service North Dakota at (701) 328-3020 for unemployment compensation liability purposes.

The local governing body where you intend to conduct business may have additional licensing or permit requirements. Please check with the local governing body (i.e. city or county) to determine if there are any other requirements for you to work in the area.
