APPLICATION FOR CONCEALED WEAPON LICENSE

As you work through the Concealed Weapon License Application process, please fill in all fields as completely as possible. Your application can be processed ONLY if it is properly completed, signed, dated, and accompanied by all required documents.

The required documents are:

  • 2 passport photographs (print your name on back)
  • A copy of your current driver’s license
  • A certified check or money order for $60, payable to ND Attorney General (applicant's name must appear on it)
  • 2 fingerprint cards (new applicants only)
  • A copy of a valid concealed carry license from your home state (non-ND residents only)
  • Documentation of status (applicants born abroad only)

PRIVACY ACT NOTIFICATION: Your social security number (SSN) is requested to permit the North Dakota BCI to conduct a background investigation pursuant to N.D.C.C. § 62.1-04-03 before the issuance of a license to carry a concealed weapon. Disclosure of your SSN is voluntary. However, not providing your SSN will result in delays or denial due to misidentification, or criminal records check requirements of other state, local, or federal agencies.

If you don't already have a ND CWL, you must submit fingerprints with your application.
You should provide this number if you had your fingerprints taken via Live Scan.
